Mood: Happy
Well, we decided not to go because we would be sooo pressed for time. So, we're going to camp out with our friends tomorrow instead. I'm actually relieved that we're not going to Michigan. I love the state to death, but I don't want to go all the way up there just to see my father-in-law.
See, the problem is that I'm mad at him because he's ignoring us and ditched us to live with his gf and her family. So, it's like he basically adopted this "new" family as if it'll make everthing better. He rarely calls us anymore. He has free long distance on his cellphone and can buy minutes whenever he wants, so calling us isn't an excuse. Not to mention, he can drive down here whenever he wants. Joel and his brothers said that he does this everytime he gets a divorce: he finds a new girlfriend and he ignores his real family. *sigh* Well, now I know his true colors. He says that it's so wrong that my family ignores me, but here he is doing the same exact thing. Well, now I definitely know that I don't need either family to do what I want. If I need help, I can either have Joel's help or I'll do it on my own. I'm so tired of people not being there for me. Anyway, that's why I'm mad at him. I really should show him this entry. Come to think of it, he still owes me that $20 for the website I made for him. Two months ago, he told that he'll mail it to me. I still don't have it! I decided that he'll never give it to me. Say that you'll do something, but never will. That's just the best moral to have, dude.
In the past several months, I realized that many artists use Myspace as a promotion tool. Evanescence, AFI, Aly & Aj, Jesse McCartney and I think Flyleaf does to, just to name a few. Personally, I think it's a great idea, because sooo many people use Myspace and Myspace even has a music player feature for music examples. If I were a professional singer, I'd use it that way, too. I wonder if NuTang will get like that? XD Honestly, I don't want NuTang to get as big as Myspace, in a sense that it looses that community feel that it already has. If it got so big and kept that feeling that would be awesome. Then, celebrities would promote here and that would be cool, too! XD Myspace will never be as great as NuTang! NuTang is so much better.
I feel like I'm rambling, so I'll stop.

I whole-heartedly agree... NUtang pwns Myspace by 1000%. I think it'd be terrible if NUtang got so big...because like you said, we'd lose that sense of community. Each of us practically knows everyone else, and adding even an additional 10000 to that list can really jumble things up.
Should I be sad about your Michigan trip? Well as long as you aren't too disappointed about it :) Give me about 10 more years and I might be able to relate to this "father in law" thing ;-)

I definitely agree with you and the-muffin-man. NuTangers are all part of a family. Myspace can stay there to promote movies, etc. We're here for a different reason. But, we could use more members. ^-^
Well, I'm glad you're going camping. Have fun!
How many times has your father-in-law gotten divorced? 0.o He doesn't sound very trust-worthy. No offense to your hubby.
Aw! I didn't comment so I didn't get plugged. >.

Hey, mind if I start plugging, too? ^-^

your father-in-law sounds harsh. oh well, camping sounds fun too. =]
myspace has been a tool for promoting artists for as long as i can remember, though i think the big labels are only catching on now and making pages for big artists, not just indie bands or anything. i honestly only use it to listen to the music they have on their profiles XD
as for movies, as far as i know, the first movie to have a specifically myspace-oriented page was John Tucker Must Die (i ended up seeing that =O). they've been using myspace for a bunch of products too. aah i feel weird knowing so much about ads on myspace haha.

hm... hope you dont take offense in this, but your father-in-law sounds like one of those users to me... he'll come crawling back when he needs something, and when he doesnt, he'll neglect you like you dont even exist... =sigh= well, you should just go up to visit him--just to bug him ;) use his house whilst you visit michigan ;) but yeah, you might not want to do that... =/
hehe NuTang > Myspace so badly! XDDDD but to be honest, it'd be cool if popular song artists started promoting here, but i like the small community we have right now--too many people, and it'd be *way* hard to keep up with everyone's blogs x_x;;

that would be horrible!! I hope NuTang never has a music thing like Myspace. Mostly because it WOULD get TONSTONSTONS of traffic [not that that's bad], and then it'd get way too commercial. it'd be bleeehh.
Yeah, a LOT of bands use Myspace as a main marketing tool. Free and easy marketing! And most of their target audience have an account. I've even seen a few bands who solely use Myspace, and don't really have a real website. [except to point to their myspace.] I thought that was funny. heh
Well, hope you enjoy your weekend!

Enjoy the holiday! The weather is supposed to perfect for camping (well, at least here in the twin cities it's supposed to be), but I hope you have a good time nonetheless. :)
